Terms and conditions
1. Who we are and when these terms apply
1.1. Art Home Renovation Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”) is registered in England and Wales, company number 17355486. Our registered office is Palliser House, Second Floor, Palliser Road, London, W14 9EB. You can reach our director, Artem Korostov, at akorostov@art-home.co.uk or on 07350 008888 (phone or WhatsApp).
1.2. These terms apply to all residential and commercial renovations and refurbishments, commercial fit-outs, general maintenance, handyman, electrical, plumbing and heating work, and 24/7 emergency services we provide across London for you (“you”, “your”). By booking a visit or accepting a written quote, you agree to them.
1.3. Where a written quote for your job says something different from these terms, the quote takes precedence.
2. Quotes and bookings
2.1. Renovations and larger jobs are priced by a fixed, line-by-line written quote after a free site survey. Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date they are issued.
2.2. A contract for quoted work is formed when you accept the quote in writing (a WhatsApp message or email is fine) and any deposit set out in the quote has cleared.
2.3. Routine maintenance, handyman, electrical, plumbing, heating and emergency work is charged by the hour at the rates shown on our prices page when you book.
2.4. A price given over the phone or by message before we’ve seen the job is a guide, not a quote.
2.5. All prices exclude VAT, which is added at 20%.
3. Hourly charges
3.1. Every visit is charged at least the first-hour rate. After the first hour, time is charged in 30-minute steps.
3.2. Different rates apply on weekdays (Monday to Friday, 08:00–18:00), in the evenings and at weekends (Monday to Friday 18:00–22:00, Saturday and Sunday 08:00–22:00), and overnight (22:00–08:00) and on bank holidays.
3.3. Emergencies. Our emergency service runs 24 hours a day. An emergency visit covers priority dispatch, diagnosis, and making the property safe, for example by isolating a leak or containing a hazard. It does not guarantee a permanent repair on the same visit if specialist parts we don’t carry are needed; in that case we’ll arrange to return and finish the work.
4. Cancellations and missed visits
4.1. You can cancel or move a booked visit up to 24 hours before it at no charge. If you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, we charge one hour at the standard rate.
4.2. If you cancel an emergency call-out after we’ve confirmed it and are on our way, we charge £150 + VAT.
4.3. If we can’t get into the property at the agreed time, we charge one hour at the standard rate, plus any parking or congestion charges we’ve paid.
4.4. Your legal right to cancel. If you agree a contract with us away from business premises or at a distance (for example at your home, by phone, email or WhatsApp), you normally have 14 days to cancel under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. If you ask us to start work within those 14 days and then cancel, you pay for the work done up to that point. Urgent repairs you’ve asked us to carry out can’t be cancelled once they’re done. Nothing in this section affects these rights. To cancel, tell us clearly by email or phone.
5. Materials, parking and waste
5.1. Materials and parts we supply are charged with a handling and sourcing fee, itemised on your quote or invoice.
5.2. Our rates do not include parking where free parking isn’t available, the Congestion Charge or ULEZ charges. Where they apply, they are itemised on your invoice.
5.3. Removing and disposing of heavy building waste, old fittings or appliances, and hazardous materials is charged separately and itemised.
5.4. If you supply materials or fittings yourself, we are not responsible for their suitability or for defects in them.
6. Payment and ownership of materials
6.1. Payment for repairs, maintenance, handyman work and call-outs is due when the work is finished, by card or bank transfer.
6.2. Renovations are paid in stages: a deposit followed by payments at set points in the work (for example after the structural phase, after second fix and at final handover), as set out in your quote.
6.3. If agreed payments are overdue, we may pause work until they are paid.
6.4. Materials and fittings we supply remain ours until the invoice for them has been paid in full. Ownership then passes to you.
7. Your responsibilities
To help the work go smoothly, please:
- give us access to the property at the agreed times;
- provide water and power for the work;
- clear the work area and move valuables and fragile items;
- tell us about any problems you already know of, such as asbestos;
- let us know about parking and any permits needed.
8. Changes and unforeseen problems
8.1. Any change to agreed work, including its price, must be agreed in writing before it’s carried out. A WhatsApp message or email is fine.
8.2. Some problems, such as rot, damp, corroded pipework or asbestos, only appear once work begins. If that happens, we stop, explain what we’ve found, and agree any change to the work and price with you in writing before carrying on.
9. Electrical and gas work
Electrical work is carried out by our NICEIC approved electricians and gas work by our Gas Safe registered engineers.
10. Our guarantee
10.1. Repairs and maintenance work carry an 18-month workmanship guarantee. It covers our labour; if our workmanship is at fault within that time, we’ll put it right at no charge.
10.2. The guarantee doesn’t cover damage from misuse, structural movement, work or interference by others, or severe weather.
10.3. Products such as appliances, boilers and sanitaryware come with their manufacturer’s warranty, which passes to you.
10.4. Whether or not the guarantee applies, we carry out all work with reasonable care and skill as the Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires. If something isn’t right, tell us promptly and we’ll put it right. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
11. Liability
11.1. We hold public liability insurance with cover of up to £5,000,000.
11.2. We are not responsible for defects that existed before we started, such as structural faults or corroded pipework, unless our work was to fix them. If we need to open up a wall, floor or ceiling to trace a hidden fault, we’ll tell you first; some disturbance to finishes may be unavoidable.
11.3. We are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable when the contract was made. If you are a consumer, we are not liable for business losses, such as loss of profit or business opportunity.
11.4. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
12. Photos
We may photograph the work for our records and to show examples of our work. We only publish photos without identifying details, such as house numbers or people, and we will remove any photo on request. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your information.
13. Complaints
If you’re unhappy with anything, please contact us first by email or phone so we can try to put it right.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute.
