Privacy policy

Who we are

Art Home Renovation Limited (“we”, “us”) is a building and renovation company working in Central and South East London. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 17355486, with our registered office at Palliser House, Second Floor, Palliser Road, London, W14 9EB.

We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy. If you have any questions, contact Artem Korostov, our director, at akorostov@art-home.co.uk or on 07350 008888.

What we collect and how

We only collect what we need to answer your enquiry and carry out your job.

  • Contact form: the form on our website doesn’t send anything to us by itself. It opens WhatsApp with your name, phone number, email address (optional), postcode, type of job and message filled in, and you decide whether to send it.
  • Phone, WhatsApp and email: your name, contact details and anything you tell us or send us, such as photos of the problem.
  • During a job: your address, access details (for example key arrangements or entry codes), and photos of the work area before, during and after the work.
  • Payments and paperwork: quotes, invoices and payment records.

Why we use it and our lawful bases

Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR), we must have a lawful basis for using your information.

  • To take steps before a contract and to perform it: replying to your request for a quote, arranging site visits, carrying out the work and invoicing you.
  • Legitimate interests: answering general enquiries, and keeping records of the work we do, including before and after photos. These help us deal with any questions later and show the quality of our work. Photos we show on our website never include identifying details such as house numbers or people, and you can ask us to remove any photo at any time.
  • Legal obligation: keeping accounting and tax records as the law requires.

We do not sell your information or use it for marketing by third parties.

Who we share it with

We share information only where needed:

  • IONOS, which hosts our business email.
  • Our website hosting provider, which may process server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security.
  • WhatsApp (Meta), if you choose to contact us by WhatsApp. WhatsApp’s own privacy policy then applies to that message.
  • Our accountants, for bookkeeping and tax.
  • Our tradespeople, so they can carry out your job.
  • Authorities, such as HMRC or the police, where the law requires it.

International transfers

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under UK law, such as adequacy regulations or approved contract clauses.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that do not lead to work: deleted within 12 months.
  • Customer and job records (including quotes, invoices and job photos): kept for 6 years after the job is finished, for tax purposes and in case of legal claims.

After that, we delete or securely destroy the information.

Cookies

Our website does not set any cookies. We do not use analytics, tracking or advertising tools, and our fonts are hosted on our own site rather than loaded from a third party.

Security

We take reasonable steps to keep your information safe, including using reputable service providers, protecting our devices and accounts, and limiting access to the people who need it. Access details for your home, such as keys or codes, are kept only for as long as the job needs them.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you;
  • rectification of anything that is wrong or incomplete;
  • erasure of your information, where we no longer have a good reason to keep it;
  • restriction of how we use it in certain cases;
  • object to our use of it where we rely on legitimate interests (for example, asking us to remove a photo);
  • portability, meaning a copy of information you gave us in a commonly used format.

To use any of these rights, email or phone us using the details above. We will not charge you in normal circumstances.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to put it right.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
